PreK is such an important part of the Early Childhood Education Program here at St. Margaret Mary School. Our PreK students learn the foundations of academic life and skills that they will take with them beyond their PreK years into the future in a Catholic School Environment:

• They learn the fundamentals of phonics instruction that strengthens their reading skills in later grades.  They learn how to pray and the basic teachings of our Catholic Faith.
• They attend mass and participate in activities that build their spiritual development as young Christians.
• They learn the fundamentals of Social Emotional development as they learn how to interact and work together as classroom families.

Overall our PreK program provides the necessary foundations that lead into a future of SUCCESS and LOVE FOR LEARNING that will last them a LIFETIME.

As a former PreK Educator, our Principal Mrs. Moore can attest to the importance of the skills they develop under our care: students learn to read, write, they learn basic math skills (adding, subtracting, shapes, etc.), classifying and problem solving, they learn manners and other social and self-help independence skills, and how to appreciate the meaning of the mass and the foundations of Catholic Faith.
