St Margaret Mary Catholic School was established
through the efforts of Fr. Richard Maher, over 45 years ago. His vision was to
provide children with quality education in both the Catholic faith and academic
studies.
September 13, 1954, was a banner day for what is
now called the Inland Empire in Southern California. On that day Fr. Maher's
dream was realized as school opened to greet 145 eager students, three St.
Francis Sisters, and lay teachers at the new Catholic School located in
Chino, California.
St. Margaret Mary Catholic School continues to
serve students at the same location with an ever increasing enrollment. We now
serve such communities as Los Angeles to the West and Riverside to the East.
Thousands of students have been educated at SMMS,
receiving an educational foundation that have enabled then to become honest,
productive citizens of our communities. Over the years, many of our graduates
have returned and joined our staff as teachers or clerical staff.
St. Margaret Mary Catholic School offers
preschool, grades K
through 8 with students participating in our Computer Lab, Science Lab,
Fine Arts Lab, and as well as a competitive athletic program.
A preschool program (ages 3-5), Extended Care
(K-8), extra curricular activities, and a hot lunch program are provided.
SMMS is fully accredited by the Western
Association of Schools and Colleges and by the Western Catholic
Education Association. We are a parish school under the auspices of the
Roman Catholic Diocese of San Bernardino.
Non-Discrimination Policy
St. Margaret Mary Catholic School admits
students of any race, color and national or ethnic origin, and does not
discriminate on the basis of sex in its admission policies and employment
practices.
