Our SMMS cheerleaders have been very busy this summer! They took time from their days on the beach and at the poolside to prepare to cheer on all our sports teams.
We have 2 teams this year with a total of 12 girls.
Our "cheer" team consists of 7 girls from grades 4-6, and 2 mascots (both from grade 2). This team will be attending our football, volleyball & basketball games and cheering on our teams to victory!
This year we also have a competition team which consists of 9 girls from grades 4-7.
Both teams worked hard this summer and attended the Bishop Amat High School Youth Spirit Camp. This was a three day event where the girls practiced cheers, dance routines, stunts, kicks and jumps.
The team won a "Unity Award" - which is given to the team that shows the best teamwork and representation of their school.
The team also competed against 5 other schools and won 2nd place!
CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR GIRLS!!!
Both teams were invited and will be cheering at the Bishop Amat High School football game on Friday, September 7. Please come out and support our girls.
The Coach
